A Little About Us

OUR HISTORY & LEADERSHIP

n 2024 Romsey Young Carers (RYC) celebrated 20 years in existence and its legacy supporting young carers not only in Romsey but across the whole of Southern Test Valley and beyond.

What started out as a small charitable organisation in 2004 has grown from a single youth club lead by a single worker and a handfull of volunteers to be an established leader in young carers support, offering diverse opportunities, fun activities and innovative approaches by a committed staff and leadership team that keeps the needs of young carers at the heart of what we do. We strive to offer holistic wrap around support that encompases values and culture that has underpinned the charity and its work.

Romsey Young Carers is committed to change growth and learning whilst not losing sight of what our work is all about, the young people. We recognise that despite or knowledge and experience, it is the young people who are the experts in their own lives.

As an organisation we continue to to champion those needs on their behalf, raise awareness and campaign for change so that young carers as better supported and have the opportunity to grow and develop whilst having the best childhood possible.

Our Trustees

The Charity is lucky to be lead by experienced and caring professionals who are from a variety of different backgrounds and bring with them lived experience and skills that fully support the charities staff and keep the values and ethos of the charity at the forefront of what we do.  Our board of trustees give their time freely in support of the charity and volunteer in other capacities as well
